This Privacy Policy covers use of information collected by Culture Agents.

We are committed to providing an entertaining, educational and safe website for all of our users. We are dedicated to safeguarding any personal information collected on the Culture Agents website. We ensure that our privacy policy and our information practices adhere to the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. To help ensure a rewarding online experience for our visitors, we provide you with this Privacy Policy that describes the information practices of the Culture Agents website ( including how we collect, use and disclose personal information.

The Information We Collect

We directly collect from child users during our initial registration process a parent’s email address, the child’s account name (which we ask not to include the user’s family name), the child’s gender, home country and state and the child’s password. When a parent purchases a paid-for item such as an online membership, printable book package or any other item sold in our store, we may collect additional personally identifiable information (“PII”) from the registrant’s parent as part of the payment gateway. The types of PII that may be collected at that time include the parent’s full name, email address, and credit card billing information including mailing address. As we are not a social networking site and do not offer user-to-user communication, the Culture Agents website does not collect additional information from the child other than the above stated information.

The Culture Agents website requires child users to provide a parent’s, guardians or school-issued valid email address in order to register on the website. We include “school-issued” email addresses because some of our partner schools have indicated that they issue each student their own email address to enable the school to oversee online activity. We use email addresses to send the a link to activate the Culture Agents account, retrieve a lost password, notify an adult about our privacy practices, send the parent communications either about the parent’s and child’s Culture Agents accounts or about features of our Web site, and for the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy. This email address is correlated with the account code name.

We may also request a code name and email address when a user submits a form through the “Contact Us” portion of the Culture Agents website so that we may respond to the inquiry. We collect the e-mail address for the sole purpose of responding directly on a one-time basis to a specific inquiry.

While we do not currently offer these features we may develop online surveys and polls to enable our users to express themselves via voting on subjects. In doing so, we may ask users to provide information that is not personally identifiable, such as their favorite vocabulary word or favorite color.

We do NOT operate a social networking site therefore do not have any user-to-user communication, such as chats, blogs, messenger methods that could result in safety concerns. We do enable users to send other users a pre-designed postcard from Beijing. The text in this postcard is pre-filled with limited open writing space for uses to express what they have learning in during their online experience. The user will fill in the receiving parties email address but no further information on the receiving party will be collected and these email addresses will not be used by Culture Agents.

If we sell all or part of our business or make a sale or transfer of our assets or are otherwise involved in a merger or business transfer, we may transfer PII to a third party as part of that transaction, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Collection of Information for Third-Party Sites and Sponsors
We do not allow third-party companies to solicit or advertise to our users. Our intention is to keep Culture Agents free from any of this sort of direct advertising. We also extremely limit the amount of marketing and email we do to our own users.

A Final Note for Parents

We believe the Internet offers an abundance of opportunities for children to learn, laugh and grow. Unfortunately, the Internet remains an extension of our real-world and harbors similar safety concerns. As with all aspects of society, the most effective way to ensure that your child has a safe and fruitful online experience is to provide constant guidance and oversight. We encourage you to spend a few minutes with your child looking through’s “Kids Safety” section. Your efforts to instill responsible information practices will help steer your children to age-appropriate sites and will go a long way toward ensuring that your children have enriching experiences online.

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page.

We ask that you read the Terms of Use and ensure that you understand them. If at any time you do not want you and your student to be bound by these terms, you must deactivate your student’s CultureAgents account by emailing your request to
